When the collection is processed, these materials may then be separated between the UNO Theatre Records (UNO-0131) and Nebraska Shakespeare Records (MSS-0006). Because students and faculty worked in both the UNO Department of Theatre and the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, these meatirals are intermixed. I was taunted and belittled by the artistic director who told me, You think you know so much about Shakespeare? before firing me at 11:30 at night in the private accommodations the festival provided me instead of waiting until the morning on the premise of the theater with another member of the company present to be witness to this abuse of power. I was unethically confronted unannounced at night after rehearsal by the artistic director pounding on my dorm room door under an unfounded suspicion that I had brought marijuana with me to Nebraska from California where I live and questioned about what drugs Id done in the past. In its 35-year history, Shakespeare On The Green has gained national recognition for its consistently high-quality productions, the beauty of Young Park setting and for steadily growing, enthusiastic audiences. The artistic director tried setting up some kind of left field joke about my own mother during group discussion for one of the plays.
